Thanks for the comments, guys.

Twitter is great as a personal PR tool and you have to understand how it works and, more importantly, how others are using it to get the full value. I have to accept that my "tweet" will only be visible for a moment before it's off the radar again. Sometimes I'll tweet the same link to a post, but switch up the headline like a fisherman switches a lure, but I don't do this more than 3-ish times per post (and at different times of day).

Also, it helps to remember that most of the power users on Twitter, the "influencers," are using a client like Tweetdeck or Seismic (or mobile app) to manage hundreds (or thousands) of followees, so unless you're on their "A-List," they probably won't see you, which is why you should use replies or DMs when appropriate, trusting that those messages will be seen.

Terrific post, Scott. Great tips and very timely. ...and way to eat your own dog food: I heard about this post via your tweet on Twitter, and was compelled to take a look. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for the tips (I'll be using several tonight-I especially like the Lemon Wedge idea).

Thanks for the comment Scott. Targeting a certain audience will help you grow interest in your blog posts. Twitter is a great tool for this.

Great info here Scott.
