I’ve recently started moving over to absolute URLs after finding a few online tools were having problems with relative URLs (resulting in 400 header status). Search engines haven’t appeared to have any problems, but as the article suggests; better safe than sorry!

This is one of the first principles I questioned about when I originally stepped into SEO. One the most common mistakes is the homepage link. So many webmasters simply link to “/index.html” thus creating duplicate homepages for spiders to crawl (i.e. mydomain.com/index.html and mydomain.com). That’s usually the first thing I’ll fix when I start a new site opt.
