I have been advocating these very ideas for a while now.

We can't just simply design Websites for machines and not humans. Poor Web usability and a lack of goals set for human users can mean doom to any PPC or marketing campaign from the start. Usability often entails having set goals for prospective leads etc. In any SEO campaign the issue of site design, Web usability, stellar content, and using computers as a persuasive technology should be paramount.

I wrote a book in regards to this issue available on Amazon, but its also free to read on my Website. You are all welcome to read it. It is titled "The Convergence of SEO and Web Usability" and discusses the implication of acclerating technological change on two important areas of optimization processes.

Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.becomenoticed.com/r/convergence.php

I tend to agree with what you said and relate to what you mentioned, I think it's true that site visitors need to find an attraction initially and then they need to come back so they need for the girl (as an example that you mentioned) to continue to be nice, not just the first time but all the time.

Relationships take work!

Good post!

Good article. Content is king and if the information is helpful people will come back and even link to your site. I recently redesigned my site though I am not too happy with it. Will probably redesign yet again. It will be worth it in the long run.

LOL! Thank you for saying what a lot of people have been thinking. Whether led astray by web designers or having an unfortunate case of do-it-yourself-gone wrong, many people need to hear this message! I'm sharing it!

Nailed it! Content is still king. People may be able to get away with poor content for a while, but in the long run, it's the sites with great content and actual "meat" on the bones that get ranked and stay ranked.

Would you believe that after linking to a friend's site in a blog post, he emailed me and asked if I would modify the anchor text to his keywords? Using those words in the text would have made the sentence nonsensical, but he didn't care.
