I have a question please. If we use some other CMS like a website on dot net nuke ..will that not be able to rank good on Google? I am planning to buy a CMS skin and load my website to it,, am I going in the right direction for SEO?

I haven’t played with many other content management systems. I have found wordpress to be the most seo friendly and meets my and my clients needs. Why leave something that is so familiar and isn’t broken, right?

I use a few tools to monitor my keywords and brand names and then get into conversations with potential and current customers on twitter… You should look into http://www.trackur.com, it is a great software to do just this.

Whatever you do, don’t use a software that auto generates tweets, etc from your account. You may build a following, but they will not be willing to do anything when you ask them to. You need to be real and legit to have any influence on Twitter.

Speed of a web page is more of a user experience factor. Google has said that it is a ranking factor now, however, in most tests, it doesn’t seem to be a very big factor at all.

As for keyword in the domain name, using short URLs, exact match on the keyword, and using a .com is going to be the very best for both Google and Bing.

Build relationships using Twitter and other social media–don’t spam. Too many people follow others just in hopes that they will follow them back. Follow those who are interested in the products/services that you offer, communicate with them and focus on building a community around your brand. Finally, post quality content that people want to know about–don’t just update with links.
