I've been testing how fast the new Google Caffeine "real-time" search performs. One of my techniques is to use Google "alerts" to see how fast they index a new post on mt Blog and its VERY fast these days.

Interesting, I suppose that server speed could become an issue if it's too slow. Maybe that server speed could be one of the key ranking factors with caffeine ...

I totally agree with Clarence. As the Google index algorithm changes for a better organic search results for end-users, some websites are going to lose their SERP and some will take the stage.

Greg, I think you're right. People need to start understanding Google Caffeine or risk losing their search relevancy, though it's difficult since Google -- as it should be -- is notoriously secretive about its index algorithm. It makes life tougher for SEO professionals, but it helps to preserve the optimal user experience.

If you want to view Google and Caffeine results side-by-side, or compare them to Bing, Ask, or other search engines, you could use our site:

Short link: http://bit.ly/73hnt

Long link: http://www.panabee.com/s?q=awesome&p_id=6&src1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3D&src2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww2.sandbox.google.com%2F%23q%3D

(P.S. If mentioning our site is inappropriate, please delete everything after the first paragraph.)

Real-time search & indexing is an interesting concept and it most certainly is the future. I wonder how search engines will know how or where to rank a page/article immediately on publish?

Good Caffeine has been an interesting case study...it's very cool to see just how the search results differ when you see them side by side with regular Google.
