A Fresh Look For Yahoo Image Search

yahoo_image_search

Yahoo’s Image Search has undergone a face lift resulting in a cleaner, more organized layout. The changes went live yesterday and were announced on the Yahoo Search blog.

When a search is performed, the results page shows pictures in a grid with each image equally sized. If you hover over a particular image it will become larger.

The most notable change is the option to have image results displayed in a slideshow with full size images. Clicking on any image will open the slideshow view and the user will be able to navigate through photos with a simple click.

Another significant change is the addition of tabs including “Top Images,” “Galleries,” and “Facebook. ” The “Galleries” tab appears in the results if a gallery exists in Yahoo! News, Flickr, and OMG. If you choose to connect your Facebook account the “Facebook” tab will appear if results “include matches from your friends’ name, photo albums, or album descriptions.” If a topic is trending the “Latest” tab will also appear.
