Job Description:

The SEO Manager is responsible for the overall SEO strategy and client success and must have an ability to keep up with the latest SEO techniques. The SEO Manager helps team members and clients better understand SEO. The Manager must communicate campaign progress to the team and communicate changes in the SEO field to clients to enhance their understanding and the success of their campaign.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage a strong SEO strategy for multiple client accounts
    • Hold a monthly strategy meeting with team for each campaign
    • Create a 3 month strategy roadmap for each campaign
  • Manage team with a strong focus on client retention
  • Perform ongoing analysis to help guide the strategy for each client
    • Site analysis
    • Competitive analysis
    • SERP analysis
    • Link building audits
    • Webmaster tools analysis
    • Analytics analysis with specific utilization and understanding of
      • Advanced segmentation and regular expressions
      • Goal and event tracking
  • Identify custom tasks to be fulfilled for each client campaign
  • Oversee and assist with SEO strategy execution
  • Oversee and finalize all deliverable creation
  • Perform quality checks on team’s work output looking for:
    • Efficiency
    • Accuracy
    • Effectiveness
  • Train individual team members to better understand SEO and achieve client goals
  • Assist in creating professional training curriculum that will be used for SEO team training
  • Assist in conducting regular trainings for each role on best practices and procedures for search engine optimization
  • Assist with tasking some elements of the strategy for fulfillment
  • Assist in addressing and resolving client concerns
  • Reporting:
    • Provide SEO campaign updates to Account Executive twice monthly
    • Provide weekly campaign reports to Director of SEO
  • Assist in identifying upsell opportunities of other products and services for your clients and inform the Director of SEO and Sales Representative
  • Assist in creating upsell proposals
  • Contribute to the blog monthly as an industry expert
  • Present in 1-2 webinars per year
  • Manage the work of Content Strategist and SEO Strategist to create a cohesive and effective team environment

Education, Skills, & Years of Experience:

  • At least two years SEO experience
  • Results-driven, organized, and very self-directed
  • Proven track record in natural search engine marketing
  • Strong understanding of SEO tools and techniques
  • Thorough understanding of website analytics
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to turn business requirements into deliverables
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines
  • Works well in a team setting and is comfortable managing several tasks simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of HTML, database-driven websites, blogging, etc. is an advantage
