I Rated the 11 Best AI Visibility Tools on the Market — The Top Ones Are Not Who You Think

Last Updated September 2, 2026

If you’ve got AI search on the brain, you undoubtedly have AI visibility tools on the brain, too.

Every major player in the search space, like Moz, Semrush, and Ahrefs, has put forward their own version of an AI visibility tracker. So, it got me thinking, are these really the best on the market? Or are standalone AI visibility brands like Otterly.AI, OmniSEO®, and Rankscale better?

The best AI brand visibility checking software (and how they stack up)

I’m going through this list from highest score to lowest score — let’s get to it!

1. Otterly.AI

Score: 83/100

The best AI brand visibility analysis tool on this list is OtterlyAI. This tool is one of the best on the market because it not only tells you where you’re missing in AI engines, but it tells you what to fix to get better visibility. Starting at $29/month, it has a low cost-barrier to entry to start tracking your AI visibility.

Dashboard for Otterly.ai

Why it scored so well:

  • Solid competitor tracking features that show trends over time
  • Affordable entry-level package to explore the tool
  • Ability to track domain and URLs cited in AI answers daily
  • Can track brand mention and visibility and see what sources AI engines reference
  • Free trial available
  • Actionable GEO recommendations for moving forward

Where it falls short:

  • To track all 7 AI engines, you have to pay an extra add-on fee — every plan comes with base tracking for ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot
  • API/MCP support isn’t available in the cheaper monthly plan — have to pay for the Standard plan to get it
  • The number of prompts you can track is low for the Lite plan (15 prompts)

In my opinion, Otterly.AI is top of this list simply because it provides everything you need in an AI tracking tool. You can monitor multiple engines, track citations, customize prompts, and more.

The real hindrance is just the cost factor — you have to either upgrade your package or do add-ons to get a more complete AI tracking experience. But nonetheless, Otterly.AI can do it all.

2. Rankscale

Score: 80/100

Another top scorer on our list is Rankscale. Rankscale offers tons of great features that help you track citations, understand brand sentiment, and track your AI rankings.

Starting at $99/month, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a feature-heavy tool.

Dashboard for Rankscale
Dashboard for Rankscale

Why it scored so well:

  • Lets you track up to 17 AI engines, including DeepSeek, Grok, and Mistral on any plan
  • Unlimited search terms and dedicated Prompt Research module
  • Can explore prompts and identify new opportunities within your niche
  • Integration with Looker for advanced analytics experience

Where it falls short:

  • Limited on next-step recommendations on what to do with what you find
  • Operates on a credit system, which can be easy to burn through (credits scale differently depending upon platform)
  • API access is limited to higher tier plans

I think Rankscale is a good option if you’re looking for something with all the bells and whistles. It has a lot of great features you want in an AI search tool, like visibility performance tracking, citation analysis, and prompt research.

Plus, it enables you to track 17 engines no matter what plan you have — that’s huge!

The drawback, though, is the credit system. I think credit systems can get tricky because you don’t know how many credits you’re truly using. But as long as you keep on top of it and pay attention to how many credits you’re using, Rankscale will be a good option.

3. OmniSEO®

Score: 79/100

The third highest scoring AI brand visibility tool is OmniSEO®. Now, before I get too far into it — this tool comes from the team behind SEO.com (WebFX). But, nonetheless, it holds its weight against the other top-scoring AI tracking platforms.

OmniSEO® starts at $89/month and gives you access to features like their unique prompt query volume checker.

OmniSEO® dashboard
OmniSEO® dashboard

Why it scored so well:

  • Ability to track on 10 major AI engines with the Professional tier plan (no enterprise customized plan needed)
  • 7-day free trial available
  • Ability to see domain-level citation data
  • Ranking of content gaps effort and impact
  • Not locked into a plan and have flexibility to change as needed

Where it falls short:

  • Competitor tracking is capped at 5, regardless of plan
  • Integrations are limited to the enterprise plan
  • Data exports are unavailable for Essentials plan and capped for Professional plan

OmniSEO® does offer a lot of great features you want in an AI SEO tool, like prompt tracking and citation tracking. It also offers more prompt tracking in its basic plan than Otterly (50 vs. Otterly’s 15) and edges out Rankscale in terms of helping you take the next step.

There are shortcomings, though, that give Rankscale and Otterly.AI advantages. The barrier to entry is higher than Otterly and the integration opportunities and number of AI platforms is more with Rankscale.

But, if you’re looking for a tool that’s backed by an AI SEO agency on the cutting edge, OmniSEO® is a great option.

4. Peec AI

Score: 74/100

Next up, I’m going to talk about Peec AI. This AI visibility platform starts at $80/month and includes daily tracking to make it easy for you to see how your AI visibility looks.

Peec AI dashboard
Peec AI dashboard

Why it scored so well:

  • Offers MCP integration for all tier plans
  • Daily tracking frequency
  • Allows you to see when your content is used vs. cited in AI responses
  • Can track percentage of mentions compared to competitors for clear understanding of position

Where it falls short:

  • While multiple AI engines are available, you only get to choose 3 to track — only enterprise plans have an unlimited option
  • Adding more models than 3 requires paying a monthly add-on fee for each additional model
  • Limited in features compared to other top tools

Peec AI, overall, is a solid AI brand visibility checker and tracker. It has the basic features you want in a platform, like competitor monitoring, prompt tracking, and third-party source tracking.

Unfortunately, Peec AI does have some serious shortcomings. You can only track 3 AI engines, despite more being available. Competitors like OmniSEO® and Rankscale offer added engines as part of their packages without add-on costs. Additionally, it doesn’t have as diverse of features as the top 3 AI visibility trackers have.

Overall, Peec AI is a good option if you just want to start with a basic AI visibility tracker tool.

5. Profound

Score: 66/100

Up next, let’s talk about one of the more well-known AI brand visibility checking software options on the market: Profound. Profound offers prompt tracking, Agent creations, and integrations with multiple platforms, starting at $99/month.

Profound homepage
Profound homepage

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Agent credits that enable you to deploy custom agents that can do things like identifying content refreshes, competitive research, and more
  • Has a deep prompt query dataset
  • Daily prompt tracking capabilities
  • Unlimited domain tracking

Where it falls short:

  • Access to multiple search engines only available for Enterprise (and basic plan only allows ChatGPT tracking)
  • Prompt volume of searches is limited to enterprise tier
  • Ambiguity around free trial offerings (just says “try for free”)

A big strength with Profound is the Agent credits. These credits allow you to take action with what you’re seeing and automate the process to take action.

The biggest sore spot with Profound is where you can track. On the Starter plan, you can only track ChatGPT visibility and no other engines.

The middle-tier plan only allows for three engines, so if you need more than that, you have to get an enterprise plan, which costs more. Higher scoring platforms like OmniSEO® and Rankscale give you access to multiple platforms in cheaper tiers.

6. Semrush AI Toolkit

Score: 66/100

Up next, let’s talk Semrush AI Toolkit. This toolkit shows you how your brand appears in generative answers. At $99/month, it can help you do competitor research, prompt research, prompt tracking, and more.

Semrush AI visibility tool kit
Semrush AI visibility tool kit

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Ability to track your daily visibility for prompts
  • Can discover new prompts and relevant topics
  • Auditing capabilities for identifying technical SEO issues that block AI crawlers
  • Competitor research options available

Where it falls short:

  • No tiered plans available (just one plan at $99/month)
  • Only 25 prompts included with package
  • No free trial

Semrush AI Toolkit has all of the basic things you need in AI brand visibility software. You can track competitors’ share of voice, keep tabs on prompts, and discover new prompt opportunities.

A big pain point with this software is the lack of options. There aren’t multiple tiers where you can decide what’s best for you. It’s an add-on rather than a standalone tool.

Additionally, you can only track 25 prompts at a time, limiting the scope of prompts you can track in your tool. And again, since there’s only one plan option, it’s very limited.

7. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Score: 64/100

Another AI visibility analysis tool you can consider is Ahrefs Brand Radar. Starting at $199/month to track one generative AI platform, you can track the sources behind your AI visibility, understand how AI talks about your brand, and track your mentions.

Ahrefs Brand Radar dashboard
Ahrefs Brand Radar dashboard

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Can track visibility across popular AI platforms like AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and more
  • Considers YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit that surfaces in AI answers
  • Search-backed prompt database

Where it falls short:

  • Higher price point to entry — minimum of $199 per month for tracking just one engine
  • Pay extra for custom prompts

Ahrefs Brand Radar is a popular AI brand visibility tool that people use to track their visibility in AI search results. It has all the basic functions you want in an AI visibility tool, like tracking brand mentions, competitor benchmarking, and finding AI citations. It also has the added bonus of being able to factor in Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok into results, too.

Where Ahrefs really falls off is the pricing to deliverables ratio. To track one AI search platform, it’s $199/month, which is much higher than any of the other tools I’ve covered. If you want to track all popular engines, it’s $699/month — again, a much higher price point. It’s a real drawback when other tools offer more features at a lower price point.

8. Surfer SEO AI Tracker

Score: 63/100

Another popular AI brand visibility analysis tool is the Surfer SEO AI Tracker. Starting at $99/month, Surfer allows you to diagnose where you’re falling short with AI search, analyze your AI visibility, and identifying competitive gaps.

Surfer SEO AI Tracker also helps you take the next step — it gives you a prioritized action list on how to improve your AI search visibility.

Surfer SEO AI Tool homepage
Surfer SEO AI Tool homepage

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Rank drop detection that updates daily
  • Integration capabilities, with more available with each package
  • Can see top-cited domains
  • Offers fan-out queries for existing prompts you already track

Where it falls short:

  • The Standard starter plan only allows for ChatGPT tracking
  •  Offers a Discovery plan for $49, but it has no AI visibility tracking available
  • No data export options for Standard plan
  • No API access for Standard or Pro

Surfer SEO AI Tracker is another tool you can use to track your AI visibility. This tool offers everything from AI visibility tracking to prompt tracking. It helps you spy on competitors, find and fix mention gaps, and more.

But where Surfer SEO AI Tracker falls short is the deliverables. Like Profound, the basic plan only offers ChatGPT tracking which is very limited. Plus, their more affordable Discovery plan offers no AI visibility tracking at all. As a result, there are better options that offer a lower price point for more deliverables.

9. BrightEdge

Score: 63/100

BrightEdge is a combination tool that allows you to manage SEO and AI search in one place. The tool can help you do everything from keyword research to AI search market intelligence.

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Can track visibility across Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and more
  • Can see AI conversations that generate demand and sentiment around those queries
  • SEO and AEO combined platform — can track both strategies in one place

Where it falls short:

  • No public pricing
  • Built more for enterprise businesses rather than smaller companies
  • Have to request a demo to learn about the platform — no free trial

BrightEdge has a lot of potential, especially with the selling of being an SEO and AEO platform in one. These strategies will eventually blend together completely, which makes BrightEdge’s platform a step ahead.

Despite that, the pricing and lack of free trial is problematic. You have to request a demo to really get insights into the platform. And despite mentioning midsize businesses, most of the language on the website is “enterprise,” meaning it’s really only geared for much larger businesses.

10. SE Visible

Score: 51/100

SE Visible is an AI brand visibility tool from SE Ranking. Starting at $79/month, this tool offers a free trial where you can try features like visibility analysis, competitor analysis, and more. This tool is built for business owners, agencies, and digital marketers.

SE Visible dashboard
SE Visible dashboard

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Offers a lot of prompts for all of their plans (Basic starts with 200)
  • Free trial available to test the platform
  • Multi-country insights into brand perception
  • Lower entry plan cost ($79) with good deliverables

Where it falls short:

  • Only offers tracking for only 5 platforms for every plan (other platforms offer more)
  • Advanced analytics and reporting don’t exist yet (listed as coming soon)
  • Lack of “next step” features to take action with data

SE Visible has tons of great features, but one of its biggest positives is the level of deliverables. With a basic plan, you get 200 prompts, which is more than any other AI visibility tool on the list. You can also track on five different AI engines with the Basic plan too, making it a nice entry-level option.

The drawback with SE Visible is that there isn’t a lot of features for “next step,” making it hard to take action with what you learn from the tool. Additionally, even if you upgrade to another plan, you’re still limited to the five AI engines.

11. Moz Pro

Score: 38/100

You may be surprised to see that Moz Pro is the lowest ranked AI brand visibility tool on this list, but there’s good reason for it. It does start at $99/month like many of the other tools and offers similar features like prompt tracking and suggestions.

But compared to other tools on this list, it falls pretty short in terms of capabilities.

Moz Pro AI visibility tool
Moz Pro AI visibility tool

Why it scored the way it did:

  • Combined SEO and AI SEO tool that enables you to do work for both
  • Comprehensive prompt tracking
  • AI citation data

Where it falls short:

  • A lot of add-on costs to get value from the tool
  • Only tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, and AI Mode (Medium & Large Plan only)

Moz is at the bottom of this list simply because it’s more of an AI visibility add on than a tool. If you already use Moz Pro, this is a bonus and a great add-on for you. You can track prompts, citations, and more.

The shortcoming with Moz Pro are simple — it doesn’t have as many AI brand visibility features as the others on this list and it’s limited to three platforms for tracking. Because of this, other tools on the list are better options for tracking AI visibility.

Methodology for scoring these AI brand visibility tools

To effectively score all of these top AI brand visibility tools, we created a rubric to grade each one based on areas that are crucial to consider when choosing an AI visibility tool.

Here’s how we weighed each platform:

Factor What it looks at Point Scale
Engines & surface coverage How many AI surfaces it tracks and whether that tracking is accessible or locked behind enterprise plans 0–15
Citation & source analysis Whether it shows mentions, pages/domains pulled from, showing source influence with reasoning 0–20
Prompt intelligence Custom prompt tracking, new prompt discovery, and prompted-level share of voice 0–15
Actionability Does the tool stop at a dashboard or provide opportunities to take the next step with findings 0–20
Competitor analysis Whether competitor analysis is available, how deep analysis goes, and whether you can see topics/queries competitors get cited for 0–15
Workflow & integrations API access, Integrations with other apps like GA4, GSC, etc. 0–10
Value for cost Pricing transparency, deliverables 0–5

FAQ on top AI visibility tools

How do I measure visibility in AI search?

The easiest way to measure visibility in AI search is to use an AI visibility tracker. AI tracking tools enable you to automatically track your performance and keep tabs on how you’re doing in AI results.

If you don’t want to invest in a tool, you can measure AI visibility manually. You can check individual prompts and keywords and see if your brand appears in the results. You’ll need to record your results in a Google or Excel sheet.

How do I choose the best AI visibility tool?

AI search engines are changing everything we know about SEO, ranking, and visibility. And as existing tools keep evolving and new ones keep being invented, you need a few best practices to guide your process of choosing the right AI visibility tool.

While these platforms provide the necessary data, many brands also partner with an LLM marketing agency to translate those insights into a comprehensive strategy for appearing in generative search results.

The following are the key factors to consider when choosing the right AI visibility tools:

  • Search engine coverage: Before committing to any visibility tool, determine which AI search engines it covers. Most tools only cover the major LLMs, like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Visibility metrics: There are numerous visibility metrics you can track, and some of the most important ones include keyword-triggered responses, featured content responses, URL citations, and brand mentions.
  • Pricing: Given that AI visibility tools are still new in the market, the pricing models vary widely. Start by deciding your budget and looking for tools that fit. Tools like OmniSEO® (as well as those offering free trials) may be a good entry point.
  • Competitor benchmarking: It helps to know not just how visible you are but how, why, and where your competitors are ranking. This information provides context on how to optimize your content, keywords, and page to boost AI search visibility.

What’s the difference between AI visibility tools and traditional SEO tools?

Traditional SEO tools focus on helping you track your performance in traditional search results on Google and Bing, while AI visibility tools focusing on tracking your brand visibility across ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, and more.

If you’re hoping to rely on a traditional SEO tool to track your AI visibility, you’ll find it difficult. Most traditional SEO tools don’t account for the nuances of AI search, like tracking visibility instead of rankings.

Can I use more than one AI visibility tool at a time?

It depends upon what you’re using each AI visibility tool for.

Generally, it’s best to invest in one tool so you can keep all your data straight. But, if there are features that other AI visibility tools have that aren’t in a tool you’re using, you can consider investing in more than one tool.

That’s why it’s good to try out different tools to find what you like, what’s easiest for you to use, and what provides you with everything you need to make decisions.

Supercharge your AI Visibility with OmniSEO®

AI-powered search is reshaping visibility with fewer blue links and increased competition for limited answer slots on LLMs. Because of how new and fast-evolving this concept is, it’s more difficult to effectively track organic traffic and visibility on both traditional and organic search engines.

These top AI visibility tools enable you to compete in the evolving digital landscape by tracking brand mentions, AI citations, and visibility in AI answer engines.
